The Myrrh Bearers Ministry invites girls in grades 2 through 12 to actively participate in special church services, emulating the devotion of the Holy Myrrh Bearers who were the first to witness Christ’s Resurrection. This meaningful role allows our young members to offer their time and talents to God and deepen their faith within the Saint Katherine community.

A significant aspect of this ministry is participation in the Good Friday evening service, where the Myrrh Bearers honor the traditions of the original Myrrh Bearers by engaging in the solemn commemoration of Christ’s Passion and burial. Dressed in white robes, they represent the women who came to anoint Jesus’ body with myrrh-oils, enhancing the spiritual experience of the service for the entire congregation. When they found the tomb empty, angels appeared proclaiming Christ had risen from the dead.

By assisting during the Divine Liturgy and sacred processions, Myrrh Bearers learn the importance of worship, reverence, and community service. This experience fosters spiritual growth and a sense of belonging within the life of the Church. Through their service, participants honor God, build lasting friendships, and develop a foundation of faith that will guide them throughout their lives.
