Philoptochos
The Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society, Inc. is the philanthropic heart of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need. For over 90 years, Philoptochos has provided support through a multitude of local, national, and international outreach programs, offering aid to the poor, the sick, the elderly, the unemployed, victims of disasters, and countless others in need of assistance.
At Saint Katherine, our Anastasia Chapter #5064 is a thriving and compassionate community of 100 members, dedicated to serving others with love and faith. Our local chapter is actively engaged in ministering to those in need, offering comfort, support, and a helping hand. As His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros stated at the 2020 National Convention, “The accomplishments of Philoptochos are everywhere throughout our church. At the National, Metropolis, and Parish levels, you have truly been champion ‘Marthas’ for the sake of our community.”
We invite you to be part of this impactful ministry. Philoptochos means ‘Friends of the Poor’, and through our service, we embody the true essence of Christian love and stewardship. Whether it’s as simple as sending a card, preparing a meal, or volunteering your time, every act of kindness helps make a difference. Your commitment, whether one hour or one day, contributes to the success of our philanthropic mission.
Our St. Katherine Philoptochos supports many worthy institutions on an international, national and local level which include the following:
